Alder Bridge School are delighted to welcome Strings of Joy - a Danish classical ensemble to the school on 31st January 2017 at 2.30pm - 4.00pm.
Strings of Joy performs Classics for Peace, a program of Nordic Music and the Alder Bridge School choir and orchestra will participate with some of their own pieces.
Strings of Joy is a Danish classical ensemble with soprano Maria Johannsen and her daughters Anna (19), both former students at Alder Bridge School, playing the cello and Giuly (15). playing the violin. They have performed together since 2010 all over Denmark and on several tours to the UK and once to St. Petersburg for the Royal Danish Consulate General. They have recently played at the Holburne Museum in Bath, Christ Church Cathedral in Oxford, Bath Abbey and No.1 Royal Crescent. Their concerts are not always serious, as the three often include entertaining information and sketches - they love to make the audience laugh. They will soon be travelling on their first concert trip to Germany.
The concert is a charity concert for Doctors Without Borders (MSF or Medicine San Frontier).
The concert "Classics for Peace" wants to contribute with hope for a better world.
Free admission for children and donations at the door for adults.
